Inside the project

Keeping a tight urban jobsite moving

At Ham Branch, material had to move through one confined entrance beside the I-35W and I-30 interchange. As the Tier 2 construction logistics subcontractor to RES, RFS coordinated the trucks, materials, and records supporting the restoration crews.

01

Bring the right material in

RFS sourced and delivered approximately 58 riprap loads, including quarry material from Bridgeport, Texas. Delivery coordination connected material needs with field activity.

02

Keep excavated material moving out

Approximately 817 loads of clean fill dirt were hauled off between June and September 2026. During the busiest week, the team handled 173 loads, including 45 in a single day.

03

Keep every load visible

A live load tracker, individual tickets, and weekly hauling reports gave the prime a documented view of loads, tonnage, cubic yards, and daily activity.

People on the ground made coordination practical. Project Superintendent and Safety Lead Jessica Colón contributed more than 300 on-site hours. English- and Spanish-language driver briefings, daily re-briefings, and a defined entry protocol supported site safety.

RFS records show its logistics scope finished on schedule and within budget. The broader restoration includes work beyond RFS’s scope.

From the field

A closer look at the work

RFS engaged certified small and local trucking businesses as Tier 3 partners, bringing capacity onto the project while coordinating dispatch, safety briefings, and ticket reconciliation.

Planning material movement for your project

Can you coordinate both deliveries and haul-off?

Yes. At Ham Branch, RFS coordinated inbound riprap, excavated clean fill dirt haul-off, and construction debris removal. For your project, the starting point is understanding material types, quantities, site access, delivery timing, and receiving locations so the logistics scope matches your field requirements.

What reporting can our project team expect?

At Ham Branch, RFS maintained a live load tracker and provided weekly reports covering loads, tons, cubic yards, and daily activity. Individual tickets supported those summaries. Your reporting requirements can be discussed alongside the scope so your team receives the documentation needed for project oversight.

How do we start a project conversation?

Share your project location, schedule, material types, estimated quantities, and access requirements with RFS. Include known delivery or disposal locations and documentation needs. Those details give the team a practical starting point for discussing trucking capacity, coordination responsibilities, and the logistics support your project requires.
